Handmade in Japan from 100% Japanese Kozo - 'Akebono' translates as dawn or daybreak in Japanese. The colourful strands of kozo are added to the papermaking pulp in the vat.
This high quality tissue paper is ideal for lanterns, lampshades and window coverings: the lightly swirling colours glow beautifully when back-lit. The mixed tones in each sheet make Akebono great for collage and its translucence lends itself well to layering. Often used as a decorative flysheet in bindings. Also suitable for relief printing and silkscreen.
